[ポイント解説]
「rest」（名詞形）と「remaining」（動名詞形）は同じ「残り」という意味ですが、「rest」を使用する場合は「the」と「of」が必要です。「remaining」を使用する場合は「the」をつけることも可能です。「the rest of」と「the remaining」は一般的に交換可能です。

[Key points]
Rest (noun) and remaining (gerund) have the same meaning, however when using rest, the and of are required. In the case of remaining, the (definite article) is used when appropriate. Remember, the remaining and the rest of are generally interchangeable.
