Junichiro Yamaguchi, an associate professor at Waseda University, won the Distinguished Young Chemist Awards celebrated at the FACS (Federation of Asian Chemistry Societies). To encourage Asian Chemists, FACS commends chemists in odd-numbered years. It was the first time a Japanese Chemist won this Young Chemist Awards in Organic Chemistry.

Prof. Yamaguchi will attend the award presentation ceremony at the 17th Asian Chemical Congress (17ACC) to be held in Melbourne, Australia on July 23 - 28, 2017 and will give a prize lecture.
