Dr. Yoshimitsu Kobayashi, Chairperson of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation, has been elected the next president of the Chemical Society of Japan.

The election was held from March 22 to April 22 through online voting by CSJ members. On May 7, the board of directors approved the result of the election and Dr. Kobayashi officially became the candidate for the next president.

His term will be from May 2020 to May 2022.
